The Death road is a highly trafficked road that carries cars, buses, and big rigs to the capital city of La Paz. With traffic going in both directions, vehicles are often forced to back down the blindsided corners, and curvy road till both vehicles can pass. Often these vehicles back off the cliff with horrifying frequency.
Natives labeled the road El Camino de la Muerte which is Spanish for “The Road of The Dead” or to be more precise, “The Death Road.” It’s not uncommon when riding in a bus, to see the bus driver make a prayer as he enters the Death Road.
